HOW WE WORK

Enne Bi Communications designs and builds custom websites for San Diego businesses. We have been doing this since 1999 - and in that time, web development has changed completely more than once. The businesses that have stayed with us through those changes are here because their sites consistently perform: they load fast, rank well, and convert visitors into customers.

We do not use generic templates and call it custom development. Every site we build starts from a brief - what your business does, who your customers are, what action you want them to take, and what visual identity you want to project. The design and architecture follow from that conversation, not from whatever theme is popular that month. If your business does not fit a template, we do not force it.

Our development work covers a wide range of project types. Restaurant websites with menu management, reservation integration, event pages, and photo galleries. E-commerce sites with full product catalog functionality - we built and maintain the Out of Mexico spice catalog, which covers 1,000+ product SKUs. Most of our client sites run on WordPress, which gives clients full content management control without needing developer help for day-to-day updates. We build with clean, well-organized code, proper database structure, and a CMS setup configured for the specific way each client's team will use it. We also work with WooCommerce for e-commerce, and we have experience with custom plugin development for functionality that no off-the-shelf solution covers.

Web design at Enne Bi is not about making something that looks impressive in a portfolio screenshot. It is about building a site that works for the person who lands on it - one that loads quickly, tells them immediately what you do and why it matters, makes the next step obvious, and works flawlessly on the phone they are holding.

We work with clients who have established brand guidelines and need design that honors them. We also work with businesses that are building their brand identity from scratch - in those cases, our graphic design team handles the visual identity first, then we carry it through to the website. The result is a site where every visual element - colors, typography, imagery, spacing - reflects a deliberate brand decision rather than a default style.

Photography matters more than most businesses realize. A technically excellent website with generic stock photos will always underperform the same site with original, on-brand photography. Our commercial photography team shoots content specifically for web use, delivering files optimized for fast loading without visible quality loss.

A new website is an opportunity to build search-ranking potential into the foundation rather than retrofitting SEO onto a site that was not designed for it. We build with SEO in mind from the first architectural decision: URL structure, page hierarchy, internal linking logic, heading structure, schema markup, image optimization, and site speed.

Performance is a ranking factor, so we treat it as a build requirement rather than a cleanup task. We compress and properly format images, implement caching, use performance-optimized themes, and minimize render-blocking resources. A fast site at launch is not accidental - it is the result of specific technical decisions made during development.

After launch, our ongoing SEO and web management services keep the site performing and the rankings climbing. Most clients start a web management retainer at launch rather than waiting for something to break.

Front-end development is everything the user sees and interacts with - layout, typography, animations, responsive behavior across screen sizes, and the overall visual rendering of the design. We build front ends that match the approved design exactly, respond correctly on mobile and tablet, and perform well on slow connections as well as fast ones.

Back-end development covers the systems behind the interface: database structure, server-side processing, API integrations, form logic, user authentication, and CMS configuration. For restaurant clients, this often means integrating with reservation systems like OpenTable or Resy, online ordering platforms, or third-party delivery services. For e-commerce, it means WooCommerce configuration, payment gateway integration, inventory management, and order processing logic.

A hacked or slow website costs money - directly through downtime and indirectly through the ranking penalties Google applies to sites with security issues or poor performance. Web security is not optional, and it is not a one-time installation of a security plugin. It requires ongoing monitoring, regular updates, and proper hosting configuration.

Our web management service includes active security monitoring, malware scanning, firewall configuration, SSL certificate management, and a clear incident response process if something goes wrong. We have seen enough hacked WordPress sites to know that most breaches are preventable with proper maintenance - and that recovery after a hack takes significantly longer than prevention would have.

Performance optimization is ongoing as well. As your site grows, adds plugins, and accumulates content, performance can drift. We run regular performance audits for web management clients to catch issues before they affect rankings or user experience.

A website is not a finished product - it is a living tool that needs regular attention. WordPress core, themes, and plugins require regular updates to stay secure. Content needs to be kept current. New pages get added as your business grows. Performance needs to be monitored. Our web management clients do not deal with any of that directly - we handle it.

Monthly website management includes WordPress updates, security scans, uptime monitoring, backup verification, performance checks, and a set number of content update hours. Most clients find this significantly more cost-effective than calling a developer every time something needs to change, and considerably less stressful than managing it themselves.
